Good Morning OBX Crew! October starts Thursday, and Halloween Island 3 opens that night in Manteo and runs all month. The U.S. Waveski Surfing Championship is at Jennette's Pier Friday through Sunday, the Ocracoke Red Drum Shootout runs the same weekend, and Manteo First Friday is Friday night. Let's get into it! Worth It AnywayI was on the beach this afternoon and it was about as close to perfect as it gets out here. Warm enough to sit in it all day, but with a breeze coming through steady enough to keep the sun from roasting anybody. That exact combination only shows up for a few weeks a year, and this was one of those afternoons where you notice it while it's happening. The water was the surprise. There's a nip when you first get in, the kind that makes you stop and reconsider your decision for a second. Then you're in, and with the sun on you it's exactly right. Everyone comes when its hot and leaves to go back before the fall. I guess I will have to keep the fall on the OBX our little secret. The Report| Conditions |
