From OBX is a free weekly newsletter about the Outer Banks. We keep this simple: we only collect what we need to send you the newsletter and to understand how the site is doing. We don’t sell your information. Here’s the plain-English version.

What we collect

  • Your email address (and your first name, if you give it) when you subscribe to the newsletter or download a free guide.
  • Basic analytics and cookie data — pages you visit and general device info, collected through cookies and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel so we can measure traffic and see how well the site performs.

How we use it

  • To send you the From OBX newsletter and the guides you request.
  • To understand what’s working on the site and improve it.
  • To measure and target our ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), including reaching people similar to our readers.

Tools we use

We use a few trusted third-party services to run the newsletter and the site:

  • Resend — sends our newsletter emails and stores the subscriber list.
  • Meta Pixel — sets cookies to measure site performance and support our Facebook/Instagram advertising.
