Mid-July on the OBX. The Wright Kite Festival hits Kill Devil Hills this weekend, the OBX Skim Jam is back at Jennette's Pier for three days, and there's a Dave Matthews Tribute Band playing Avon Pier Thursday night. Plenty of reasons to be out this week. The September SituationWe've got a September trip to the OBX in the works, and the planning has officially taken over my brain. The beach time and sunsets take care of themselves. It's the restaurants and the spots you don't want to miss where I need help. The OBX is long enough that you can't realistically do everything, and I want to make sure we're hitting the right places in both directions. So here's my ask: hit reply and tell me what I'm missing out on. I'm looking for two buckets: Duck and Corolla up north, and then Rodanthe, Manteo, Hatteras, and Ocracoke down south. Restaurants, coffee spots, a good happy hour, somewhere to watch a sunset, whatever you think is worth the drive. I'll pull together the best recommendations in a future issue. September's still a ways out but I'd rather over-plan than miss something good. The Report| Conditions |
